Mustang Paradise by mhprice Mustang Paradise by mhprice
I know it's been awhile, so here is my latest drawing . . . This is my 2007 Mustang parked in front of the Shelby Mustang Museum in Las Vegas, NV.

Drawn with Derwent Graphite pencils 6B-4H

8.5 x 11 paper

Drawn from a reference photo.

Wow! I am impressed. I have seen many car sketches and some are wonderful. This is another wonderful one. Not only do I see amazing details, reflection and shading, but the artist even took the time to put all those details into the background!

This is visionary perfection, as perfect as the pencil will allow. It's very original, not so much for the vehicle, but for everything. It's real enough to almost reach in and touch the car and smell the road and hear the noises in the background. It gives quite the impact. The technique is amazing as well. Shelby himself would be proud of this piece.
What do you think?

Thanks man. Yeah I use Strathmore 400 Series. I think it's 80lb. I have trouble selecting paper, so I'm open to suggestions.

Yeah I just have to scan my latest, and it will be ready. I usually do more drawings towards the end of the year. Then I like to start the new year building models. I don't know why?! I did a model of a church for a client at work that went well.

sweet! Haha maybe its just easier that way, it keeps you anticipated to make more models, and drawing takes less time I suppose. Thats great, I'm glad to hear that worked out for you, I bet the church looked fantastic.

I actually have a lot of friends with birthdays near the end of the year (4 in a span of a week!!), and I like to give them drawings as gifts. By the end of the year I'm worn out, so I switch to models!! You're right models take more time and require more set-up space. I don't need much for a drawing.

We gave the church model to our client, and he loved it. He is preparing to show it to everyone, so that's cool that worked out.

What about you?! What have you been up to lately?!

that makes sense :D. yeah, its great that you switch it up. keeoing everything balanced! thata true but models are probably more enjoyable?

Wonderful! once they see that model you'll definitely get more business!

Nothing much, im changing my style (completely) to do a childrens book and some comics. Im also working on my music :). im glad to hear the good news for you though, it must be exciting.

Awesome about doing a book for children and comics. I would like to do comics too sometime. Lots of color which would be a nice change for me. What kind of music do you work on?

I'm thinking of building a model of the Minnesota Twins baseball stadium.

Work is a bit slow for the holidays, but it should pick up in January.

Good choice!!!
This would have been our first choice, if we didn't have already a Jeep Rubicon. :blowkiss:
Both the angle of the photograph, how the same drawing, are amazing . Especially the reflections 8-) on the left side of Mustang and its chrome wheels.
W:omg:w.......!!!!

Thank you. Those Rubicons are sweet. I got to ride in one through an off-road course!!

I usually don't include backgrounds, but I have been recently. Kind of like them.

We are confident that, when you get drive a Jeep, you'll love :D!! The strength of your engine with the lower gears is overwhelming!!! :omg:
Although I believe, the force of an engine in road, as a mustang, must also be impressive!!! :omfg:
